1. Méribel, France
Located right in the middle of the famous Three Valleys region, Méribel offers the perfect base for intermediate skier families.
The Parc Olympique Center has a big ice skating rink and an indoor pool to keep the children entertained when not on the slopes.
Le Rond Point is a popular meeting place in the evenings, especially for music lovers, with live bands and DJ’s belting out foot tapping numbers.
2. Tremblant, Canada
Warm hospitality and easy access has made Tremblant a tempting choice for families who want to ski.
As a majority of the accommodation is ski-in and ski-out, the kids would not have to wait for a long time to get on to the slopes. The area is small and easy to traverse and there are a number of big great food outlets to cater to the appetite of the teenagers.
If high speed is your target, the whole family can pile up in a dune buggy and have a blast going fast with mom and dad.
3. Beaver Creek, Colorado
The Beaver Creek resort lies two hours west of Denver and is just the place to spend a ski vacation if you have teenage girls.
The girls only ski school and the Ski Girls Rock program are the mega attractions here as they teach the young girls the skill and confidence needed while on the slopes.
Run by an expert ex-Olympian, the Rock program empowers the girls to build self-esteem and stay away from their mobile phones, even if it is for a short duration.
4. Les Deux Alpes
With mainly intermediate ski terrain and snow sure skiing, Les Deux Alpes is a good proposition for families and teens.
Hotels have a good choice for rooms from family suites to twins and doubles. The funky Motown cafe comes alive at night, as does the Polar Bear Pub.
Other activities include paragliding, horse sleigh rides, dog sledding and a bowling alley. For fitness buffs there is a spa room with Jacuzzi and a steam room.
5. Zermatt
From superstars to backpackers, the vibrant town of Zermatt is a magnet for skiers.
As for the teens, there is much more to do after spending a day on the challenging slopes. Kids between 13-16 years have the option for taking classes at the famous Summit Ski School or go on a day trip to the beautiful town of Cervinia.
Après ski activities do not come cheap here, but the five cool venues in the Post Hotel Complex are ideal for the young crowd. The action continues at the swimming pool, cinema, dog sledding, bungee jumping and many other outdoor events.
6. Val Thorens
This huge three valley ski area has many different runs and a large number of mountain restaurants.
Oxygene and New Generation both run programs for Pro Rider teen groups in Val Thorens. Since the clientele is mostly young, the nightlife is equally lively, particularly at Malaysia, the largest nightclub of the Alps, which has played host to a number of world famous DJ’s.
Apart from a sports bar, there are eight bowling lanes in Val Thorens as well as the Cinema Du Lac Blanc, the highest cinema complex in Europe.
7. Verbier
The terrain is deep and steep and not the ideal place for beginners, but teens can join a powder clinic with Powder Extreme or other camps which are suited to teenagers with energy and plenty of skiing ability.
Le Rouge at the base of the piste is known for its legendary nightlife, while one can enjoy the top craft beers at Vie Montagne or La Farinet.
Paragliding, snowshoeing, yoga, basketball, squash and badminton are some of the other popular activities for all to partake in.
8. Courchevel
Situated just at the northeast corner of the Three Valley linked ski area, Courchevel is a wonderful place for skiers of all abilities and skills, with a few challenging black runs to be found anywhere in the world.
All important sites are linked by lifts so one can ski from one to another.
The place has a plethora of bars and shops and many places to eat. From the moderate clubs like Funky Fox and La Grange to the wild party outlet of Folie Duece, there is no dearth of after ski activity.

9. Jackson Hole, WY
Though this place has a reputation for expert skiers, there are many less challenging options for families and teens as well.
While the ski school is excellent, most of the hotels are based at the foot of the mountain, making access easy for the older children. The après ski vibe is relaxed and the pedestrian center has plenty of teen wonders.
Spending an afternoon at the Elk sanctuary is a great way to introduce your growing brood to these beautiful animals.
