How Do You Show Faith In Daily Life?
Are you wondering what are examples of faith in everyday life?
Most people have a general faith in God and follow their religion and cultural values.
Devout Christians never fail to miss their Sunday services in the church. We relate with each other as we listen to those religious verses and sing Bible hymns together.
However, we tend to shift away from our religious realm when facing the daily pressure of life. Our faith seems to disappear when we find ourselves in the midst of a challenging situation.
So, how does one hold on to that faith in our daily life and experience the Biblical truths?
When Bible guides us on how to trust and believe God at every step of our lives, it is because God knows that we need Him and what’s best for us.
We need to have a strong faith in God not just because to overcome our hurdles, but also to grow and thrive. But knowing what faith is, is one thing, and practicing it in your daily life is another.
It is essential to not just have faith but also practice it in your daily life.
Here are some simple ways to incorporate faith into your everyday life and let Christ take control of our lives and lead the way.
1. Surrender to Him completely
As a true Christian, you must believe in the almighty creator who is the creator and master of the universe.
Once you start believing and trusting the Lord, He is sure to manifest in your life in His own ways. But you must believe in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and surrender to Him and His ways completely.
Accept Jesus as a Savior and live your life according to scriptures and trust in God’s will, protection and wisdom. This is the first essential step to practice faith in your life.
Corinthians 13:7: "Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance."
2. Have complete trust
The Holy Bible guides us to trust God and have complete faith in Him as he takes care of us at every step. He knows what is best for us, and thus, one should never doubt or question His ways.
We should trust Him to act as per His will and His time and should avoid questioning Him to see the results of our efforts.
Once we trust Him completely, God will take special care of us, and His presence will only make us stronger and happier.
Isaiah 55:11, "It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it."
3. Stop worrying and taking on stress
Stress is a common word that is well accepted in society, and today, a growing number of people in any country are prone to stress.
However, the Holy Bible says that one should not worry about their everyday life and one should sit down and think about one’s source of stress.
Most people worry about their jobs, finances, health, and relationships. The Bible asserts that worrying means that one has little faith in God.
After all, the Almighty is aware of what you need, and if he can take care of lesser beings on the planet with such perfection, why wouldn’t He care for you? So, stop worrying as God is there to take care of your concerns.
Matthew 6:30-32: "These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs."
4. Do not be negative
Avoid negativity at all costs if you are serious about practicing faith in your life.
There are bound to be some highs and lows in life, but one must move on without complaining and arguing. Just focus on a rightful way of life, just like an innocent child of God, and do not get swayed by the negativity you find in life.
Perhaps you work under a mean boss or have a selfish friend, just take them in your stride and remain positive.
Philippians 2:14-15:" Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people."
5. Practice gratitude
Another aspect that keeps people from practicing their faith is a lack of gratitude.
Well, practicing gratitude is not just biblical, but an effective way to express your faith. Learn to see the silver lining even during the bleakest situations and be thankful to God for all the blessings He has showered you with.
So, live a life of genuine gratitude and find that inner joy. You will find that you are overcome with a deep feeling of peace and happiness.
Colossians 2:7 NLT: "Let your roots grow down into him and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness."
6. Express your faith
If you have stopped praying, well, this is certainly not going to help you practice your faith.
So, start praying and ask God to move you closer and offer you complete knowledge of his spiritual wisdom and understanding. You must pray not just for yourself and your family, but all those who are in your life and those who are not.
Ask Him to help you seek opportunities to help others and be a good Christian and make prayer a priority and engage in prayer as a community.
Mark 11:24: "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."
7. Maintain a spiritual discipline
As a devout Christian, it is a must to follow a spiritual discipline, and going to church regularly can work as strong spiritual training.
Even if you have little time or are too tired and stressed out, get rid of those excuses and make time to be with other people of God in the church and spend some time with them.
However, you may need time and effort to develop your character and spiritual discipline.
Psalm 1:1–2:" Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers, but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law, he meditates day and night."
Once you incorporate those habits into your daily life, you can certainly find it easier to apply your faith to every situation and in everyday life.
