5 Ways to Make Yourself More Open to Feeling God’s Presence
What can I do to feel God’s presence?
In a world that is constantly bombarded with noise, it can be difficult to find moments of silence. However, it is in these moments of silence that we are able to connect with God.
When we seek God’s presence, we are opening ourselves up to His guidance and wisdom. Additionally, when we spend time in prayer and meditation on God, we are able to release our worries and concerns to Him.
Here are five ways to experience God’s presence in your daily life:
1. Pray
When we pray, we are opening up ourselves to feel God’s presence in our lives.
This can be a daily experience, where we take some quiet time to reflect on scripture and devotions. Or, it can be something that happens randomly throughout our day.
Jesus is always with us, and when we pray, we are inviting him into our hearts and minds. By doing this, we allow God to guide us and lead us through life.
2. Read scripture
When we feel lost, alone, or uncertain, turning to scripture can help us feel God’s presence. The Bible is full of verses that remind us of God’s love, power, and care for us.
Here are a few of my favorite scriptures to help us feel God’s presence:
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7
"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff comfort me." - Psalm 23:4
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging." - Psalm 46:1-3
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." - Deuteronomy 31:6
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” - Joshua 1:9

3. Worship
When you worship, you open your heart to feel God’s presence.
Worship is a time to come together with other believers and sing songs of praise. It’s a time to reflect on God’s goodness and give thanks for His blessings.
Worship can be done anywhere, but it’s often done in church with a group of people.
There are many different ways to worship, and each person experiences it differently. Some people may feel God’s presence more strongly when they’re alone, while others find that worshipping with others strengthens their faith.
If you’re looking for a way to worship, try attending a church service or listening to Christian music or podcasts. Worship is about connecting with God, so do whatever brings you closer to Him.
4. Spend time in nature
There are many ways to feel God’s presence, but one of the best is to spend time in nature. Whether it’s a walk in the park with your husband or an early morning hike in the mountains, simply being in nature can help you feel closer to God.
If you take the time to really listen, you may even hear God speaking to you through the rustling of the leaves or the song of a bird.
Just take a few moments each day to enjoy God’s beautiful creation and be open to His presence, and you’ll soon feel His peace and love.

5. Be still
How many times have you been told to “be still” in your life?
It’s a phrase that can be applied to so many different situations. Whether you’re trying to listen to someone or stop and think about what you’re doing, being still is a key part of the process.
But what does it mean to “be still” when it comes to God? The Bible has a lot to say about being still.
In Psalm 46:10, we’re told to “Be still, and know that I am God.” This verse is often interpreted as a reminder to surrender our stress and worries to God.
When we take the time to be still and listen, we can feel His presence more clearly. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by your cares, take a few minutes each day to be still and focus on God.
How do I know I’m feeling God’s presence?
When you feel the presence of God, it’s like nothing else you’ve ever experienced. There is an overwhelming feeling of love and peace.
You may feel like you’re floating on a cloud in the sky. You may also hear a voice telling you that you are loved and valued.
If you start to cry, it’s okay. This is a sign that the Holy Spirit is present. When we allow ourselves to be open to God’s presence, we are able to receive his love and peace.
If you feel like you’re speaking in tongues, don’t be afraid. This is another way that the Holy Spirit manifests himself. Speaking in tongues is a way of praise and worshiping God. It’s a sign that we are surrendered to him and ready to receive his message.
Feeling God’s presence can provide many benefits. It can help to improve mental and physical health, increase overall happiness, and provide a sense of peace and calm.
Additionally, it can help to connect people with a higher power and provide a sense of purpose in life. For these reasons, it is important to take time to feel God’s presence each day.
Feeling God’s presence will help us feel more connected to God, it can give us strength and comfort, and it can help us feel more hopeful.
